Habitat Friends
Although there are many individuals and organizations who help Armstrong Habitat for Humanity, one that stands out as an example is the Vacation Bible School at Kittanning's United Methodist Church. Over the course of a year, since right after their Bible School finished in 2006, they collected 37,137 cans and donated the proceeds to AHFH, a total of $783. In 2006, the collected 30,025 aluminum cans and donated $593. This year, they have beat all records: Jim Ternent and all his volunteers collected a whopping 42,026 cans for a grand total of $953.55! From all of our 'other' volunteers - Thank you!
Thanks to Venture Crew 630 for the tremendous number of volunteer hours spent helping with the Triathlon and also building the playhouse, a fundraising project they decided upon after seeing a similar project by the Allegheny Valley Chapter of HFH. The drawing was held in the parking lot in front of Wal-Mart. Total money raised was $6,105. Thanks, kids and adult leaders!
